Write

Thoughts on writing from a poet's point of view...

Regarding AI, Then Art

Science is making Scientists obsolete.

Monday, April 13, 2026

Good morning, Twfw. O/

A so much to say morning...

The kind that leads so many writers and artists to what's called: A Block.

Creative standstills aren't caused by a lack, but by an abundance. There's simply just so much to be inspired by, how to choose?

But the point isn't the topic; it's the act of creation.

You're a writer not a 'topic picker.' Just write. Get writing.

Good sentences will come, but only by writing.

Great sentences will come, but only by writing more.

Onto more.

...

There's a pull often to write regarding AI. A curious subject for a poet... perhaps not.

There's already a good amount on the site regarding AI.

I never use it for my work, nor could I. Using AI is playing a video game, not writing... certainly not painting or making music either.

Art requires a human being; it's non-negotiable.

But artists of all varieties know this.

My creative friends, we must be ready.

Science is making Scientists obsolete. AI simply does a better job at Science than Scientists are able to do. Our nerd friends will all need a hug and new sense of purpose in a generation or two.

It's the relationships with what lives that makes life worth living.

Sorry... a robot husband or wife can never bring happiness or love regardless how well-designed.

Life-like is not Life.

Consider the difference between a spouse and an exact robot AI replica.

What's lacking from the droid is what Life is all about...

Welcome to what Art is all about.

Take care and make that wonderful day.

Our Arias of Experience

The professional pianist is as much an instrument for music as the piano she plays.

Saturday, April 11, 2026

Good morning, Twfw. O/

Welcome back.

Hundreds of sunrises in a row and what to show?

Sunlight like river water is never the same fire twice. Our galaxy's star always makes us new.

Fire and water share a bond in how they go about their business. Always new, always agents of change to remain the same.

Together they make the weather to make The World.

There's nothing out of the ordinary about a writer keeping a daily journal. In fact, I know it's necessary for writers of any craft if they want to be successful.

If you're a professional pianist and you miss a day of playing, your music and method both suffer the neglect.

It's the same with all acts of creation. Every Art form requires commitment.

The professional pianist is as much an instrument for music as the piano she plays.

...

Color is music for the eyes. Painters and visual artists compose songs with lines of their own.

Writers have words for notes, paragraphs for sonatas.

There's a certain song that happens within all of us. Walt called it: The Song of Ourselves.

It's the music poets write about.

Not a symphony of notes for the ear or a choreography of colors for the eyes, but the sound and hue of music and color within us.

We don't see or hear with our eyes or ears this song great within; we know it through words. We filter and express it to ourselves with language.

Just like we all can hum a tune, we all use language in a poetical fashion to express our inward song.

A concert Diva is going to hum the same song a little differently than most of us.

A poet sings their song great within with the same passion and skill a Diva takes to an aria.

Our Arias of Experience, mundanely known as the voice in your head while you make decisions, is transcribed by poets throughout the centuries.

There's some here if you're interested.

More, specifically here.

Soon, as AI makes more of the reasons we thought made us necessary obsolete, we're going to wonder what life is all about.

I present Wonder Fell as a starting point towards a way of considering what it means to be human in an AI friendly world.

Turns out being alive is all about the expression of our arias of experience.

Or more plainly put: Life is the process of making Art.

Choose an instrument with the instrument called yourself and play.

Keyboards and pens for me.

Thanks for reading, enjoy yourself, and make a wonderful day.

The Hues of Morning

Do you think The World experiences the light like us?

Saturday, April 04, 2026

Good morning, Twfw. O/

Sunrise. Pinks and baby powder blues make a nursery wall of the horizon.

How's your sky?

Dreams make imaginings that want words; words to make living dreams possible.

Making sentences is how we make our dreams come true.

It's always the first step: Getting the words right.

Living a day without a clear understanding of what we're doing is like getting into a car with nowhere to go. There's more to life than 'just driving' your day.

Where are you going? What would you like to see and do and be?

Words of encouragement and insight will always be Poet's work. Sometimes they fill these morning pages.

...

It's color; it's light.

We rise and wake with The Sun. Our bodies adjust to the change of colors the spin of Our Earth brings.

Do you think The World experiences the light like us?

The hues of morning are groggy and slow.

Noontime shines bright get-it-done right tones over every city, seaside, and town.

Dusk is a hush; The Moon wakes for lullabies.

All of Life is an intricate twirl of sunshine and circles. A choreography of celestial fire dances The World.

The Sun is a composer and conductor of color.

Green is for traffic lights and Spring.

Both mean Go!

Where we are now.

Thanks for reading, take care and make a wonderful day.

Acronyms and Emoji

Acronyms and emoji make a Poetry of Efficiency.

Friday, April 03, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

What about an acronym?

G.M.T.W.F.W?

"That's a lot of caps first thing in the morning, Wynn."
-A Favorite Reader

True.

How about:

Good morning, Twfw?

"Yes, that works. Don't forget the circle-slash insignia, though."
-Helpful Favorite Reader

Good point.

So from now on Wonder Fell posts start:

Good morning, Twfw. O/

A one of a kind way to start each day.

One of a kind... like us.

...

A bit of business out of the way, how's the day?

That is business, btw. Acronyms are in the realm of Poetry, as are emoji.

'Twfw O/' is a very poetical act of writing.

So is: lol brt otw.

And here you are thinking your texts were just quick and lazy.

Acronyms and emoji make a Poetry of Efficiency. Which is redundant, as Poetry is the epitome of efficiency of language by design.

...

The Pink Moon, the first full moon of Spring, ebbs away.

Calendars are records of cycles of time.

We gather around a campfire to tell stories the way we spin around The Sun to share our lives.

Sun's up. Drab Spring morning, the kind that's good for growing things.

Hope all's well, Dear Reader.

Enjoy Poetry; text some acronyms and emoji, and make a wonderful day.

Music for Your Mind

Poetry is music for your mind with words and grammar for its only notes.

Thursday, April 02, 2026

Good morning, the Wonder Fell Way.

Spring rain, sunrise thoughts on the brain
Echo raindrop splashes on every window pane.

Rhyme is an easy example of what Poetry's power is all about.
There's lyricism, line length, and punctuation if you want to shout!

Or go soft...

The harmonies words make in a certain rhythm as you read is the focus of my craft.

Uplifting, motivating, worth wondering about, life affirming words to mirror the sunrise: What Wonder Fell is for...

And each sunrise.

See what poetic language is for yet?

Poetry is music for your mind with words and grammar for its only notes.

Is there a lyrical quality to these lines? Do they lull or lift? It's intentional, you know.

All the things a composer or pop musician has in mind when they write a song goes into the formation of every line a poet writes.

We write to communicate so much these days. But words do more than talk. They sing, too!

Making words sing using only the voice in your mind as you read is my Life's work and Love.

Eight notes make a major scale octave; I've got twenty-six letters and punctuation to make my music.

O/ Thanks for listening.

Words are our greatest gift and responsibility. We're monkeys without them. How you use your language and where, when, and why determines who you are.

It's crucial we remember: Our language is an extension of ourselves.

Who are you? Your words know. Consider them a mirror or selfie.

Take care and make a wonderful day already.

Why

America's never had an Epic Poet; I had to make my own way.

Monday, March 30, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Let's talk about why.

I rarely go personal here. Wonder Fell isn't a memoir or a self-help guide. It's not a coaching manual or advice. I'm no guru. I'm a poet whose experience of adult life was Hell for no fault of his own.

A chronic auto-immune illness, Sarcoidosis, took the opportunity of a decent life from me. After a decade of fighting just about full-time, I beat it into remission.

Recognizing the value of time, I went to work doing what I love most: Writing. Non-stop.

It was during the time of Co-vid. I put together an anthology of poetry to give to the world.

One morning while driving to one of my favorite spots to write and work on its publication, an SUV travelling over 50 miles per hour broke a double yellow and drove into my driver's seat and lap.

I woke up three days later in an ICU with a host of internal injuries, my left leg split in two, and a medical team waiting for me to remain conscious enough to operate on.

It took me a year to learn to walk again and another two years to fully heal all the nerve damage from the crash.

In the meantime, I worked: On Wonder Fell, On New-New Hampshire, On Colore.

I've known I'm a poet since high school. But what the Hell is a poet supposed to do in America? Work for Hallmark, teach at a University, or pick up a guitar and start a rock band.

I considered all three, but accepting any is an admittance that poetry is not enough.

The Ancient Greeks, Milton, Chaucer, Blake, Shakespeare, and so many other great minds that helped move civilizations forward disagreed, too.

There's more to poetry than University classrooms, Pharmacy Card Aisles, and lyrics for popular songs.

America's never had an Epic Poet; I had to make my own way.

Wonder Fell is an Epic Letter Poem sent to the Creative Spirit of a Friend every sunrise.

Hey friend. O/ Thank you for reading and sharing it.

I've beat death twice, scientifically so. I believe I've been able to because my dream to share words with you is so strong. And maybe the message inherit in these lines can matter that much.

Humbly, I believe it can.

Beauty, Hope, Love, and Joy... the stations of Poetry are what's missing most from my Country's monologue.

And so, from your life.

There's no self-help, guru guide here... Wonder Fell is what's missing.

Art, Music, Life alive! Where are you? As of late... where are you?

The volume is turned up too loud on the radio to hear the music. That's the state of The Arts in America, at present.

Let's paint, draw, write, and sing tribute to quiet worthwhile moments, to the beauty of a sunrise.

You see, it's a journal of a poet whose only had hope and his desire to share words with you his whole life.

I've been through the worst; it's why I share the best: That's how we rise.

Words worth beating death twice for the chance to share.

I hope you find inspiration here. Life really isn't worth much without it.

Go ahead and have that wonderful day, it's up to you, after all.

And What Is Poetry?

A song worth singing about; a new witness of events worth new words.

Friday, March 27, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Wind. The evergreens are a cheerleading squad for Spring. A powder blue sky pinches a band of orange pink light to draw the horizon. Lights on. Curtains up. Time for a show called: A New Day.

Let's make it a good one.

...

There's always poetry somewhere in your life. And what is poetry? A song worth singing about; a new witness of events worth new words.

Writing that lyrically expresses life in a novel way is like a new color in your box of crayons. You have a new way to express yourself.

I wonder what the color blue looks like to you, how a C major chord's positive simple harmony cheers up your ears, what lilacs mean to your nose when you know their blooms are around.

We share the World; we see it in our own way. Science speaks to the consistency of matter, not its experience.

That's what our relationships and our Arts are for... sharing our unique witness of the color blue, a C major chord, the scent of lilacs in Spring.

Life alive living Life, you're living it!

What's up with that?

...

Dreamy sunrise thoughts for a poet's morning journal to stretch the word making muscles for the day ahead.

I do hope all is well Dear Reader. And that maybe you've found that the quality of your life rests in how you define it. That perhaps you started defining what things mean to you instead of letting things define you.

Wonder how the relationships in your Life can mean more to and for you, take care, give care, and make that wonderful day already.

Pic Prompt: Create a stick figure pen and ink image of a evergreens at sunrise in Spring using a blue color palette. (typo left because it was part of the prompt)

Word Count

A writer is a play within a play called Life creating plays.

Sunday, March 22, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell way.

Welcome back. O/

Another day, some other rays of light to paint the World right.

Slow words this morning... dreams adjust.

How'd you sleep?

...

Years ago when the writing wouldn't flow, I'd force it to. Nothing much useful comes from lines made like that.

Word count doesn't count for much if your words don't count for much.

Let's talk about quality.

There are so many fashions and fads on how to write more, more, more. There's even software designed to write for you. But you can never have anything, or anyone, write something for you.

Using AI to write for you is copying off someone else's paper during a test.

Telling a bot to write you a story like Mark Twain doesn't produce an article of writing. That finished 'story' is nothing more than proof of winning a video game.

Congratulations you entered a successful prompt!

Quality of writing is found in the quality of experience of how you write.

It's why writers prefer quiet places to work; our best states of mind are found there.

I've read many writers consider their best writing comes when they think of it like talking on paper.

But writing and speaking are no more similar than singing a melody or playing it on the piano.

So many more options are available with 88 keys and a pen or QWERTY board than with just a human voice.

Harmony of the notes and words... timing for another.

Back to quality: what it is and how to get to it consistently.

Imagine going to lunch with a good friend you haven't seen in years. You both sit, order food, get comfortable.

Then you each take out your phones, open your Casual Conversations App, type in 'catch-up with an old friend,' sync your phones, and press play.

Your phone speakers chat away while you both drool, stare out windows, and wait for your food....

The point of friendship is human interaction. Now, if you both commented and laughed on the mock conversation from the app together that would be a positive life-affirming experience.

Software can never replicate what it means to be human. There's more than flesh and bones to our flesh and bones.

Which is why we communicate... to share those qualities that make Scientists roll their empirical eyes: Our hearts and souls.

Every human being is a living story. Every story is about renewal, growth, and change in the hands of hope.

So when you write you are communicating a story within a story: This Tale of You.

A writer is a play within a play called Life creating plays.

Quality in writing comes from how well we match the moment of the creation of our words to the state of the moment in our lives.

What's going on with your personal story while you write goes into every word typed.

Words are always wholly representative of the moment they are created.

Say hello to a friend, a stranger, a business associate and that same word means something slightly different depending on the relationship.

Get your relationship to writing to best suit your love for the craft. Sit down for romance every time you write. Make love while you make sentences and every word will sound your heart and soul. And perhaps, finally, give Scientists something to measure while they contemplate The Beautiful.

Take care and make a wonderful day.
