Wonder Fell Itself

Thoughts on Wonder Fell itself...

But Monkeys Don't Read

Words make dreams into realities to witness and share.

Saturday, February 07, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Dreams make etchings on a tablet moving magnets to signal and shape binary light.

Every morning on Wonder Fell.

We should consider it more, what happens while we read.

It's the only activity we do that separates us from monkeys.

Monkeys sing, dance, grunt communications; they even have their own banana counting Science.

But monkeys don't read.

The only reason we say our singing, dancing, communicating, and Science-ing are more advanced is because we have the ability to read and write.

Because we can put our thoughts and dreams into the World in a lasting concrete way they are able to grow because they are able to be shared.

Words make dreams into realities to witness and share. People make words; it's how we work.

We read, for leisure and learning, to recognize we're not alone.

Reading and Writing, sharing words in any way, is the most human thing you can do.

Thanks for sharing your humanity with me. O/

Every morning I write my wonder while the sun rises.

You know poets are a different sort of people. But did you know how?

Weird? Depends on the poet. And still not as weird as you think.

It's work; it's solitude.

Especially in our flick on your phone viola! access to so much humanity world these days, the office space requirements of peace and quiet necessary to do this work seem strange. Weird only by contrast.

We have our lives set on go-go-go.

But where we're going and why must come first.

You get in the car and go. The reasons why you're going where you are rest with more than "The GPS says that's how to get there."

Why you do what you do and go where you go... the language you have available for your compelling reasons is my life's work.

We all believe Love is the greatest reason to do anything. Where'd that notion come from?

O/

Sure we all feel that way, but we can't say it, and so share it, without the work I do.

It's not just Love; it's everything greater than what numbers can do.

"There's more to Life than adding it up; there's the joy of adding it up."
-One of My Favorite Sayings

It's important while we make our calculations to fly to The Moon that we remember the joy of the success of it.

Because Joy exists just as much as The Moon does.

The Rocket Science necessary to fly to A Moon called Joy, called Love, is my field of study.

Poets are people, though, regardless how introverted our craft makes us seem.

Like with other fields of study and work we have departments of focus.

There's Love for the Love Poets, Politics for the Political Poets. There's Ordinary objects for The Everyday Ordinary is Worth Wonder Poets.

And every once and awhile there's A Whole Civilization for The Epic Poets.

O/

America's been lacking one, so I stepped up, shook off death, and went to work.

Because we have to strengthen our understanding of our stories, and make some new ones, if we're to heal.

Back to Colore for me.

And back to making wonderful our wonderful day.

Thanks for reading.

How Stories Shape Our World

No worries, it's not as dull academic as it sounds.

Thursday, February 05, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Something new and tried and true... The Sunrise.

And Wonder Fell. O/

Glad to be read by you.

On with our show...

...

Practical matters lately. Getting New-New Hampshire set for formal publication.

Colore is still in the works. No worries, Dear Reader, we won't leave Hope, and Finn, and Langston standing at the threshold much longer.

There's the site redesign and clean up.

...

Do you read Wonder Fell at night?

How ironic of you.

Having such a good relationship with irony, we're sure to be great friends.

Poet: Irony is in the job description.

Poets do write stories too, by the way.

When a poet writes a story it's called an Epic.
Wynn, The Poet, writes an Epic; it's called: Colore.

It's in the works. I post progress of it here and discussion of working on it here.

At present, the storyline is on pause to finish some world building.

One of the main differences between a poetical Epic story and the novels we're used to is the structure.

Poetry uses the form of the text to help shape its message.

No worries, it's not as dull academic as it sounds.

Dr. Seuss is an example of a poet using verse to help shape the story's message.

Colore is not a story for children, though there maybe a rhyme from time to time.

The poetic shape is that of characters experiencing mythic type stories and then juxtaposing the moral message of those events to happenings in the modern world: The Side-Stories.

The intent of Colore is to remind us how our stories shape our World.

It shows why The State of our Modern Press is our poison at present. It's a reminder of our responsibility to share better tales to see a better world.

We can only ever be as good as the dream we have of Ourselves.

Poets and Artists of all types shape ways to express what is possible to experience.

Our Arts and Entertainment industry in America right now is just as responsible for our Nation's divide as is The Press.

Where's Hope Hollywood?

Hope is in every story told well and every honest brushstroke of every Artist.

And so I write.

It takes words to heal Our Nation of Words.

Stories are always the best way to take that kind of medicine.

Popular music lyrics, as well, help give Hope.

Artists of America someone's got to be the adult in our Country's dividing room. My Vote is for The Arts to step up and heal Our troubled Nation.

Take care, if you're an Artist of any kind consider what hope you can share and where, then share it and make our wonderful day.

We're a Nation of Words

Poets and Literary Artists are the only means of medicine that ever heal Our Nation because we are a Nation of Words.

Wednesday, February 04, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

The sunrise returns sooner everyday, as of late.

Despite what groundhogs and meteorologists say, more opportunity to have a shadow at all, and not if you see it, is the true indicator of when Spring arrives.

Hope all's well, Dear Reader.

On with our show...

...

The site changed! Wonder Fell updated its wardrobe. A new poem, which is now the title for the anthology of poetry here arrived:

New-New Hampshire

A recognition of some of poetry's short story in our Country, with reference to Frost's anthology of about a century ago for the title.

America's changed a lot since then. Our views drastically shifted on some very poetical topics.

The stations of Poetry: Love, Faith, Joy, and Common Decency; look and sound vastly New.

It was time for an update.

A Nation built on a living document is only as strong as its shared understanding of its words.

Poets and Literary Artists are the only means of medicine that ever heal Our Nation because we are a Nation of Words.

What we talk about everyday as a Country, and how we talk about it, defines all that we can be.

Right now with the state of our Press and Arts our words aren't meaning all they could, so they don't mean all they should.

It's our Poet's, our Artist's, our Storyteller's responsibility to keep what's best about us always in the forefront of our thoughts.

The Arts give us language to express what is best about us.

We haven't seen much, if any, of what's best about us for some time in words.

And so I write with the sunrise every morning as a civic duty to remind us what's wonderful about us.

Words are my Life, my Love, my Livelihood; just like The United States.

We have so much in common.

Would we rather have what Our Country means defined by the state of The Press at present or by our greatest and most compassionate Artists?

Would we rather an American Shakespeare help to define what freedom and justice for all means or our current Nightly News?

Time to start listening to our Artists and our hearts again, America.

Let's take care of each other by redefining the meaning of the right of all of us to have Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness.

I'm not so usually so blatantly patriotic, but clarity is the most important aspect in Art and Life.

We're a Nation of Words and they're under fire, twisted and corrupted to serve a few.

I'm a poet; words are my Life and Livelihood. The trash perverting language, and so the very foundations of our Country, are messing also with my Love, my work, my Life.

And so I write.

We're so much better than we're allowing ourselves to be, America.

Remember what Freedom means to you, look around, see that's threatened right now, talk to each other about what you value, and make our wonderful day.

A Poet's Paint

A place for a poet to have a conversation with his Country.

Sunday, February 01, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

The healthy way to start your day.

Thanks for being healthy. O/

True health starts on the inside.

The amount of stress your body feels determines its well-being.

So stressing out counting calories is counter-intuitive.

If you enjoy counting... it's a fine thing to do.

Interesting morning, health on the mind.

I wonder how many journal entries the world over deal with topics of physical well-being.

A large percent I'm sure.

...

Wonder Fell's turned into more than just a journal. It's become a place for a poet to have a conversation with his Country.

An Epic Letter Poem, For You.

Because what's missing most from America is what Poets do best: A quiet introspection and an appreciation of moments.

There are so many of us who believe the only way to make a song sound better is to turn up the volume.

Give that sentence a thought or two and you'll see it's the cause of all our Nation's unrest.

Our music and our media are worth more than a volume button consideration.

Substance over image... the substance makes the true value of the image: The Ghost Point.

How we shape and arrange the materials of our lives determines our worldly success. But how we choose, and what we choose, depends on the substance of our character.

How we do anything at all defines our ultimate success.

How we use our words determines their success. This is poet's work.

We're focused on how language works.

The properties of paint say what an Artist can paint.

The substance of language is a poet's paint.

And so Wonder Fell... to defend the materials of my work.

There's more to language than exclamation points. Someone tell our media and entertainment industry that periods, questions marks, and lyricism still exist. Someone show the view out our windows and on our screens is the result of not valuing them.

Someone is. O/

Thank you for reading. Take care and make a wonderful day.

Don't Be an NPC

Unlock a few quests.

Saturday, January 31, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

An easy pun for sure, but this journal is a record of where wonder falls every morning.

Life goes better with a sense of wonder. Perhaps if you've lost yours you might find a reignition switch here.

That's my hope.

I could of course name it For The Wynn, but I'm not talking to, or about, myself. This is For You.

Creative thought, more specifically poetical thinking, is sorely lacking from our days and ways of life. We're paying the price for it lately.

We're creators first; we build places for our dreams.

Really. That's what you are: a being made to build places for dreams.

How are your dreams? What are you building today?

If you don't know what dream you're creating, you're serving someone else's dream.

You're an NPC.

Don't be an NPC.

Unlock a few quests.

A quest is a dream you want to see made real. Making it real is the work of heroes.

And the way to live a purposeful life.

If you know how a story works, you know how to make your dreams come true.

You have a hope (dream), you take the steps (quest) to make it real (dream comes true).

It's why stories work; they're reflective.

Life lives the ways of story.

In order to have hope, you have to have a sense of wonder.

The all important: May-Be.

"I wonder... maybe things can be better if I..."
-Hero About to Unlock a Quest

Find an NPC to help you get started. Gather your materials. Level up. Then go and make your dream real, Hero.

Thanks for reading, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

For the Sake of Words

Keep in mind every time you utter, type, sing, or thumb-slap a word you're furthering or hindering humanity.

Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

We write the morning; we do the day.

We march one step and sip of our coffee or tea to see the words match our dreams.

Hope all's well Dear Reader. O/

...

For the sake of words... definitely the title.

What my work is about lately: The poetry of words.

A poem about words is like biting your own teeth.

But with all the babble on blaring around us, someone ought to point out the cause.

How we treat our words is how we value life.

A world without language is a monkey's mess.

Words, like people, are alive.

Language needs dreamers to keep it going. A word is never done, never dead.

Humanity evolves because its language does.

The link between evolution and language is a redundancy.

The only way to evolve is to grow our understanding.

That means to heal and expand our expressions.

And so I write.

Every morning.

Thanks for reading.

...

Keep in mind every time you utter, type, sing, or thumb-slap a word you're furthering or hindering humanity.

Your words really do matter that much.

Your language is the art you use to communicate yourself to the world.

Be clear. Be sincere. Your voice, written or said, is the masterpiece you share with life itself.

A lie told is a disingenuous brushstroke, a rookies mistake, a disservice to the painter as well as the viewer.

When you listen to and take your advice from falsehoods you follow a GPS app that gives bad directions.

You never get where you intend to go. You walk, drive, live around frustrated all your efforts do nothing more than get you more lost.

This is why my Country hasn't healed since the time of Covid. We're being fed lies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And too many are eating what's served as opposed to choosing something better.

The modern media machine in America, at present, is a GPS app that gives bad directions.

It's no longer enough to only refuse to watch and listen to the lies, we now must serve and share something better.

Consider Wonder Fell something better shared; a Poet stepping up.

As always thanks for being here, take care, share words of hope, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

So We Can Best Express Ourselves

Somewhere in the piled on spectacles from the Internet, AI, manipulative politicians, and a media for hire we forgot.

Monday, January 26, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Welcome or Welcome Back. O/

Here's where we write during sunrise whatever the sunrise brings.

Words are our greatest gift. I, a poet of some note (a B sharp of course), see the world forgetting the power of language, see the damage it's causing and set about to help it heal.

That's what Wonder Fell is all about... remembering true power and value is in how we use our words.

Somewhere in the piled on spectacles from the Internet, AI, manipulative politicians, and a media for hire we forgot.

Money doesn't make the world go 'round; words do.

...

Every brushstroke from only Da Vinci paints The Mona Lisa. There is only one true expression of his dream.

Your words are brushstrokes to paint your expression of a good life.

Imitation is for learning how to better express ourselves.

We learn to paint like Da Vinci so we can better paint like ourselves.

We learn to speak and write like others so we can best express ourselves.

AI is an educational tool. Any other use of it is a disgrace to what it means to be human. Using AI to make choices for you is an act of surrendering your humanity.

Artificial Intelligence is a great tool to help us do our work and live our lives. But we must always choose how to employ it.

Your Life is the expression of your Life and that is always up to you.

Use your whole environment to help you learn how best to express your dreams of a good life, then express away.

Faith Esperanza James Campaign Speech:

"Our words are under fire, America.
This Living Document Nation is under attack at our foundation.
What does Freedom mean to you?
What about Liberty and Justice?
Our shared understanding of a few words make Our Country.
Does America look free to you?
Are you a citizen?
If so you better be able to answer yes or you're not living where you think you are.
Talk with each other. Remind one another we're in this together.
Ours is a Nation whose foundations rest on the power of words.
Let's get our definitions straightened out so we can start being who we believe we are."

A nice speech, and a side-story to be, to start the day for Colore.

Take care, talk about freedom, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Few New Considerations

We, as writers, must write what we love to read to have any success.

Sunday, January 25, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

How's your day? O/

What topics are on your mind?

The direction of the weather and Wonder Fell for me this morning.

Arctic Temps give way to snow late today.

...

Colore updates! That's the way we'll discuss what's up with The Epic in this journal.

More World building yesterday.

Posting a story as you write it sets up a few new considerations. The first is editing. The second is cohesion.

Practically put, I've been writing for decades. I know my voice and how to make a sentence. If classic grammar doesn't like one of my commas, remember I'm a poet, check my poetic license (Wonder Fell works), and move on.

Cohesion's the thing.

Making up a story as we go is part of the joy of writing. Creating the rules and ways of the story world are what's going on behind the scenes in Colore.

It's a fantasy writer's bane and beautiful. I'm enjoying working with the genre. We, as writers, must write what we love to read to have any success.

For me, my always 'love-to-reads' are poetry, Emerson's Essays, and any fantasy story like: Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Narnia's tales... coming of age Wonderland tales.

And so... the poems, the daily essays, and The Epic all found here.

So Wonder Fell marches on. Essays, and poems, an Epic... Oh My!

Btw, The Of Sorts Gallery (of sorts) is still on. We're in development mode. We'll stick with a single pen and ink stick figure pic by an algorithm of doodlers everyday until then.

Back to World Building for me.

And back to you making wonderful your wonderful day.

Thanks for reading. O/
