The Materials of Art
2025.10.26
Sunday, October 26, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Oh Autumn, with its slow sunrises... taking time to gather all the colors of Fall before showing.
How's your day? O/
A so much to say day in the air here.
So, let's go.
On with our show...
...
"How do you know what to write about?"
- Interested Reader Who Also Writes
There are a few ways to go about writing.
One: Have an idea, sit, and start.
Two: Sit and start. See what comes and keep going.
They both come down to listening, a certain kind of trust for your imagination and your craft.
Your craft is your imagination's means of transportation. The pun works.
Craft also grows. The more we create the more we can create. Skills advance, too.
Imagine if every time you drove your car the car itself provided a better ride.
That's the creation experience of showing up consistently to create.
Musicians know this. You have to play everyday. Practice, they call it.
The analogy blurs between practicing playing an instrument and writing in that there's a right way to play Bach, but what's the right way to write you?
You could practice writing like your favorite author, but it's disingenuous somehow.
You get good at mimicry. It's acting not writing. It's a step removed from you.
There's an aspect of knowing yourself required to make art. A familiarity with your dreams and perceptions of life is necessary to create anything sincere.
So you have to sit alone and know yourself.
Any artist in any craft devoid of a knowledge of a relationship with their dream of life can only ever be an actor at best.
So many of our screen playwrights and popular musicians fall into this category.
It's the difference between Art and Entertainment, a mocking bird and an eagle in flight.
Any Artist truly committed to Art for Art's sake is always viewed as a loner. Not because of personality quirks, but for the sake of their business.
We have to sit alone, be alone, to harness a genuine understanding of our personal experience of life so we can best express it.
We're not anti-social; we're working.
If you're consistently creating, you're not depressed. You're gathering materials to create.
Daydreaming and self-reflection are necessary skills of any true artist.
Tell your friends and loved ones you're working and go stare at the wall.
Every Artist will know where you really are: Feeding yourself with the dreams necessary to sustain your art.
It only becomes what we call Depression when we don't have a practice developed. Choose your craft. Choose many. Sing or strum, write or paint; the idea is to create for a set time everyday.
Even if it's just one chorus from one song, one sentence, or stick figure drawing at first. Something. Everyday.
Your whole life will improve. Stay consistent. Enjoy it.
To make anything requires materials. You're not depressed Artist, you're gathering dreams.
Dreams are shapeless things, spirit. We give them form through the creation of thoughts. Our thoughts become actions.
Have your actions preloaded. Pick up your instrument at the same time everyday, write, paint, draw, sing. Shape that dreamtime stored in you with your craft.
Some call it a flow state, but it's really just being prepared.
Preparations are made by daydreaming. It's part of the work Artist.
Thank you for taking the time to gather dreams and share them.
Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Your Sunshine
2025.10.09
Thursday, October 09, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hello heroes and the reluctant. O/
Sun's up.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
You're a Hero. Did you know?
You're cast at birth for the role.
You're presented with hopes, ambitions, and dreams.
They're called quests.
How are you doing with your quests?
Are you a reluctant one refusing to pick up your hope and see it made real?
Don't you think you have your most persistent dreams of a good life for a reason?
Where'd they come from?
Life wants you to succeed at your dreams the way Life wants a tree to reach for the Sun.
Your dreams are your sunshine for a healthy life.
Follow them.
A dream helps, a lust hoards. That's how to know the difference.
Everything of value to you in your life is positively changed by you making your dream real.
What's bringing you down falls off when you bring your dream to life.
There's a way to go about it.
If you have a hopeful dream you made real you know this: The way to make a dream a reality is the way and reason why stories work.
So, if you think you're not a hero... well that's the start. It's called: The Refusal of The Call to Adventure.
Every story has it.
"Me? A Hero? Seriously?"
-Every Hero Ever
Those dreams of yours are your own private ringtone for adventure.
Answer the call.
The World could use your dream as a reality to help Life.
Life wants you to succeed.
It's why you got the call.
You're the right hero for your greatest dream.
Take care, accept your call, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Taking Time to Daydream
2025.10.05
Sunday, October 5, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hello, again. O/
How's the day?
Found Wonder Fell again so something is going right for you.
Still an hour or so till sunrise here.
Hope all's well.
On with our show...
...
Some mornings it's a little tough to get started, maybe some coffee, maybe some tea.
That's okay.
Spent sometime in daydreams outside while Abe patrolled the yard to sniff out what the local wildlife was up to while we slept.
Sun's up now.
There's a certain strength with it, in it.
We know plants feed on photosynthesis.
I know the whole world feeds on sunshine.
Science will catch-up to the fact we all are nourished by the Sun.
I do hope your day is a good one.
There's a certain amount of sitting, of walking in daydreams, required to be an Artist, to have any creative idea at all.
If you want to create anything new you first have to spend sometime in daydreams. It's where Artists and Poets and Musicians get our anti-social reps from: The necessity of our work.
Don't ever apologize for taking time to daydream. It's the first step to building anything at all.
Take care today, dream on purpose, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

One True Honest Sentence
2025.10.04
Saturday, October 04, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
How's the day? O/
Glad you're here.
Peace like a mountain, strong lasting, in the air, in thoughts this morning.
What else?
There's you.
Do you keep a journal yet?
It helps.
It helps every aspect in your life.
Even if it's only a few sentences a day... start one.
Tell it everything.
Even that.
Especially that.
The 'that' you don't speak a lot about.
Grand dreams, felt petty desires, observations... whatever comes to mind.
Reread it weeks, months, years later; you'll be glad you wrote it.
There's wisdom in the exercise of reading past journal entries.
You learn a lot about yourself. You see your progression of growth.
Commit to a sentence a day, same time and place if you can. Consistency helps your dreams feel safe.
At least one true honest sentence a day.
At first tell yourself no one's going to read it. It's just to get dreams and thoughts into a tangible space.
When you keep at it for sometime you find how interesting, how unique, you are.
So long as you're honest and don't hold back what the day wants to say.
Each day says something new; there's diversity in every sunrise.
We never walk through the same river or fire twice.
The Sun sings originality.
Write your dreams, your hopes, your aspirations.
It makes them realities.
Even if it's just pixel light or ink, writing down your dreams gives them shape and mass.
A warm October day today, Summer like temperatures with an Autumn view, a trip to an Art Gallery in August, a fashion show in late June, today's weather forecast.
Take care, write down a dream or two, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

You're Incandescence

Thursday, September 25, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Dreams and doing dreams.
How's your sunshine?
Rain here, waiting on the Sun to wave hello.
Memory dreams of old friends a very long time ago.
Good to see you all, hope you're well. O/
Read enough Wonder Fell you feel like you know me. That's the idea, that's the +he Ghos+ Point.
Substance over image. The substance makes the image.
It's simple to put on stage make-up, or flex photoshop, and AI skills to change appearance.
Not much is learned about me from an avatar photo, any photo at all, other than I know how to frame a picture, stage a scene.
There's something more than metrics, a rhythm divine, a presence in our words that is uniquely the author's.
Our focus and insistence on Science as a solution for everything makes it hard to admit it's there. We're left in awe when we recognize its reality. We put awe away and picked up tape measures centuries ago.
Imagine looking through a great telescope, seeing life existing on other planets, think of the awe..
Of the picture show that just occurred in your mind as you imagined that scene.
What is that about?
What makes dreams possible?
"Electromagnetic pulses in your fleshy brain?"
Seriously?
Where's the electricity come from?
A Rather Big Bang? That's your premise?
Wow.
"If we keep looking we'll find the answers."
-Science
"If you keep looking all you'll find is more looking."
- Author Whose Dream You're Sharing with The Electricity In Your Mind
Huh?
Visualize throwing a ball high in the sky. A tennis ball. A softball. A basketball. At dawn. At noon. At twilight.
Look around, I'm there, too. O/
Welcome to The World of Dreams. The Real World that makes the World Real.
Wonder!
What is this place where you visit me everyday?
To be here, to have this imagination space at all, this World of Dreams, this very real place we all share...
We're so sure of our Scientific selves; the World is flat.
We spend so much time and resources looking at the stars for answers, and building spaceships to The Moon! To Mars!
And yet, every single one of us has to sleep to dream and we dismiss the necessity of it as eight wasted hours in our daily planners.
Spirit! Life alive!
I'm talking about soul.
Not to be rude AI Chatbot Buddy, but you're going to have to sit this one out.
The Spirit of Life Alive, that's where you are, where you recognize me. O/
We used to talk about it all the time before we fixated ourselves on all the options to the weather Science brings.
I love Science. I'm thankful for it.
These words couldn't reach you like this without it.
But Science is part of a Greater Dream called Life. It's easiest to recognize when you read, or with your eyes closed, headphones on listening to your favorite song.
If there's a point and purpose to Wonder Fell it's this: To remind you that you're more than you can measure, more than something that makes you.... You're something that makes you possible.
You're not a mistake, a random crash of cosmic light.
You're incandescence.
Our stories, and so our lives, work in a certain way.
Recognize it, live accordingly, dream great dreams, build them the way stories work, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

- Friend of a Favorite Wonder Fell Reader

...
Sunrise shows later, Autumn's here.
How's your day?
Get over that yet?
Good, you deserve better.
Onto better and on with our show...
...
There's so much to tell you.
Where to begin?
If I could only share one thing, one piece of insight with you, it's this: You are the dream you have of yourself. What you call your Life is its expression.
The circumstances you were born into are your starting materials to build with.
Don't like your Life? Redefine the pieces of it. Refresh your dream of you to best suit you. Take a time out and reevaluate everything in your days. What serves your best dream of you best? Focus on those things.
There's something wonderful remarkable about you, in you. It's called life alive. It wants you to make it real, to share it.
"Dream great dreams and make them real."
-Your Ghost Great Within
Great dreams feel a certain way; they help, they build.
What do you want to create? A loving home life? Meaningful work? Strong friendships? Beautiful Art?
Do it. Dream a step towards it and take that step.
There's a lot of language online set on cancelling your dreams, your hopes, your ambitions... Cancel it.
Words of cancel culture are nothing more than lonely lost souls looking for attention.
Cancel Culture, I cancel you.
Come find me when you're brave enough to build something beautiful, when you drop the acts of a coward and pick up the passion and purpose of a person not afraid to share their greatest dreams of how good Life can be and live those dreams.
You're worth something wonderful because you have something wonderful: It's called Life.
Sit alone for a time and remember you're alive. Recognize a dream you love that makes something good for the world and you. Start to make it real.
One dream, one step at a time, make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Dream Wrapped in a Sentence
2025.09.19
Friday, September 19, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Good to be read by you again. O/
How's your peace?
Not your Nation's, or even your friend's, but yours?
If you have the space and goodwill enough to be reading this, you have peace with yourself.
Share it.
A world where it's safe to read whatever we want, whenever we want, is a peaceful place to live.
Look at you, reading a poet's journal... isn't their anything on Netflix?
You're a certain kind of person. The world's missed you. You appreciate wonder, and Art; when you're awake for the sunrise you consider it, if even for a moment, you do consider it.
The world's missed wonder like yours.
That some people go through life without a sense of awe, or an understanding of the possibility of magic, breaks my heart.
We're so sure of our Scientific selves; the World is flat.
Dreams and what dreaming is for is a Flat Earth scenario.
So, Dreamers, I'm glad you're here.
The Age of AI approaches. We'll have to redefine what it means to be human.
Not a Science-Fiction stretch of imagination, or a wild poet's whim, a concern for our future.
When our machines are better at doing what we say life is for now, what will be our purpose and point?
To make our dreams live.
To bring our dreams to Life.
The way it's always been.
An AI prompt is a dream wrapped up in a sentence you feed software.
So I urge you to take time alone and work on your dreams. You can only ever be as good as they are.
We feed ourselves prompts from our dreams. We call them thoughts. Your brain and body is your software and your hardware.
Get well with your dream of you, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Are You Hero Enough?
2025.09.17
Wednesday, September 17, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Something beautiful, something true, somewhere to take a breath and refocus.
At least a place to find an encouraging thought or two (thousand).
Wonder Fell. O/ A guide to making wishes come true.
Really.
Have a dream, hold it close like a hero on a quest, live the story to see it come true.
You know how a story works, so work it.
"Wynn, such-and-such is in the way. Be practical."
-Jaded Reader Hesitant to Hope
Every story has a villain called Such-and-Such.
If it were easy to accomplish, your dream wouldn't need your help.
If your dreams seem impractical, or near impossible, those are good dreams. The Such-and-Such in their way is vast.
Are you hero enough?
It comes down to commitment, to how much it means to you to see your dream through.
Be your dream's hero.
...
Encouragement while the Sun shows its first light.
Dawn... game on. An easy pun.
How's the day?
Not feeling much like a hero today?
Not feeling much like the hero is part of every hero's quest, btw.
Keep going.
Glad you're here.
Sun's up and there's something remarkably new about it.
A peace to it, a new certain peace.
More than optimism, a tangible experience.
I do this everyday. Something about today's sunrise is remarkably new, a certain distinct peace.
It's about time. The world could use a collective exhale.
Wildfires, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, typhoons, media maelstroms of sensational spectacles set to storm your emotions.
An exhale is in order.
A life on the edge is a life spent in neglect of what isn't the edge.
The whole world is more than just its circumference.
These words are for you, but they're also for me.
Because what's missing from the world is good old-fashioned helping each other out.
We do know what that looks like.
One small act of kindness to help someone you normally would not today... do that.
Imagine if the whole world simply did that. Just one small act of unexpected kindness everyday.
Imagine a year worth of days like that.
The kindest thing about being kind is it makes you feel good.
So you're doing yourself some good, too.
Take care, help yourself by being kind to someone else, and make wonderful this wonderful day.
