Morning journal entries from December 2025.

What's Up With The Sun?

2025.12.23

Tuesday, December 23, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Longer days, more rays of light... Life is better fed.

Winter is a season with a reason to celebrate.

It's a question of light. The seasons and our celebrations base themselves on the quality of light at that time of the year.

What's up with The Sun? The answer determines our schedules.

During Autumn when the amount of light diminishes most, we celebrate all The Sun has made possible throughout the year.

We call the holiday: Thanksgiving.

After, when Winter arrives with its solstice, the daylight begins to increase in duration again. And so, we celebrate the promise of Life returned from the celestial sphere.

Everything needs sunlight to grow. Life is a process of growth.

So I write with, and for, the sunrise every morning.

Poets historically neglected the sphere... busy romancing The Moon.

But The Moon is just a nightlight powered by The Sun, in charge of the tides.

How's your sunshine, dear reader?

Northern Hemishperers back on the rise, for sure.

Sun's up, clouds cover the sphere... snow on the way.

A shorter entry today. Over to The Epic.

As always, thank you for reading.

Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Don't Be a Monkey

2025.12.22

Monday, December 22. 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Welcome back. O/

The shortest day of the year was yesterday... if we're speaking in sunshine. And, as you're reading Wonder Fell, we're always speaking sunshine.

Thanks for reading.

...

Transition day, for sure today.

What would you like to read about Dear Reader?

What if we could talk through dreams?

What would we say?

'Hello' and 'Good morning' are always a great place to start.

But aren't we speaking through dreams?

Isn't that what reading and all Art is for?

Of course it is.

Thanks for sharing dreams.

So, what shall we share?

There's over a year's worth of sunrise dreams here.

Some poems here.

And Epic in the works here.

If you like themes, there's tags. Type them up there 🔍 .

The state of mind necessary to read, to write, to make Art at all is what makes us human.

The rest is just monkey stuff. 🍌🐒

Don't be a monkey. Enjoy Art.

Watch a film, read a book, see a painting, listen to a song; share dreams.

That's what Art is for: To share dreams.

...

Sun's up. Lavender and Ivory paint the horizon, make a way for a clear blue domed sky.

More daylight today than yesterday, with the solstice comes more reason to shine.

As always, thank you for reading, take care, don't be a monkey; enjoy Art, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Kindness

2025.12.21

Sunday, December 21, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Kindness, what is it?

This morning wants to know.

It's a simple recognition that Life matters, and because it does we ought to treat each other with a certain amount of respect and common decency.

There's strength in kindness, too.

We can only ever be as successful, as healthy, as our surroundings allow.

Kind acts increase the quality of Life around you.

And so, your own ability to grow, to be more successful, increases through kindness.

A survival of the fittest looking out for number one mindset is limited and self-defeating. It neglects quality of life.

You can only care for yourself as well as the materials around you allow and afford.

We get what we give; the world is more reflective than we often admit.

The truth of these statements explains the unfortunate condition known as Empty Success.

When we get what we thought we wanted and the world views us as successful but we don't feel successful, that's empty success.

Success is a feeling not a paycheck.

Successful living comes from the quality of our relationships.

Kindness builds strong relationships because it's based on a recognition of value.

Life matters, that's what a doctrine of kindness is based on. Compassion is implicit in a kind world.

This also means being kind to yourself.

To do that you must first recognize what you value, then do your best to surround yourself with it.

Being kind isn't always about being nice. It often involves saying no to situations and circumstances that don't serve you well.

So this morning brings kindness with the dawn. Each sunrise is consistently new... another chance to shine.

As always, thank you for reading, take care, be kind to your life, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

The Stories We Share

2025.12.20

Saturday, December 20, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Glad you're here. O/

First signs of light in the sky.

At the end of each year we celebrate The Sun returning for longer intervals everyday.

Sunshine means Life. There are many stories and Faiths that tell us why it happens. But the practical day to day reasons for all the hubaloo at Wintertime is the promise of Life returns with the increase of sunlight in each day.

That's the easily sensed reason for the season. Anything more comes down to the stories you choose to ascribe to.

Life turns the lights back on for longer periods of time everyday. Life persists! Color in why with stories, histories, and dreams of your choosing.

Speaking of color, a new verse of Colore dropped last night. The step into Act Two: A whole new world for the hero.

A story is an interesting thing. There's an aspect of entertainment necessary to make a story successful. But a story is not for entertainment's sake alone.

The purpose of stories has always been to share moral truths with each other. Entertainment value helps make the message last.

Every culture is defined by the stories it shares.

Enter questions about what The News is about and for.

What we choose to report and how we choose to talk about it defines our culture.

We're better storytellers, better relayers of truth, than we're showing.

What's happened is we began focusing too much on the entertainment aspect and lost sight of the moral necessity of a story.

This pertains to News Media stories as well.

We are the stories we share.

There's a lot more, and better, that we haven't shared for quite some time.

Share stories of a better world, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Onto the Process of Healing

2025.12.19

Friday, December 19, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Fog! Grab a frog.

Nonsense words that heal.

How's your day?

There's often talk of morality on the site.

Today starts a true test of how much my Country still values basic right and wrong ethics.

Wonder Fell is not a place for politics, but it is a place for the power of what stories do. So morality is a welcomed friend here.

Justice has been interrupted by what we've allowed money to do. But justice is absolute; money is only human convenience.

Morality vs. Money centerstage in America just in time for the holidays.

About time.

Spoiler alert: Morality always wins.

The Sun always rises and morality always wins.

Greek theatre epic justice on the way for the USA.

...

Speaking of Epics... it's Friday so another verse of Colore posts today.

There's been a lot of work on it this week mapping out the terrain ahead.

We're about to step into Act Two in the story and that means a whole new world.

It's an extra step writers of fantasy have... world building.

Fun for sure, but an extra step for sake of genre.

As a poet writing a story, I prefer fantasy; it gives me more control over the metaphors.

A dog's squeaky toy is just stuff and fluff unless you're in a fantasy story... then there's always the possibility the toy can stand up and sing.

Onto a metaphorical choir of squeaky toys.

Hope all's well for you today. Best dust off your moral compass. You're going to need it.

Finally we can start the process of healing.

Take care, remember morality not money is the only reason ever to have a government, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Poets Are to Blame

2025.12.18

Thursday, December 18, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Peace. Think of doves.

Some metaphors last.

There's nothing more peaceful about a dove than there is about a pigeon.

What's up with that?

Our stories and poets are to blame.

O/

People like me are the reason a dove signals peace for you.

An owl is wise because of the work I do.

I'm working on widening our understanding and making a new place for dragons in our cultural mythology right now.

Our stories of what it means to be alive aren't serving us as well as they used to.

We need a rebirth of wonder, a cultural Renaissance, if we're to survive.

People's spirits are down. 'Whatevers' roll eyes and fill the air.

But life is worth more than Whatevers. It's worth 'What Could Be's,' too.

A thing called Hope, the reason for every story, The Great Destroyer of The Whatevers.

Our stories don't serve us as well as they could. So many write these days, do so much these days, just to make money.

The problem with money as a reason to do anything is: It's amoral. It's neither right or wrong.

But money isn't worth a dime without human interaction.

So what we're actually valuing when we say we value money is the ability for more positive human interactions.

Not nicer things, better relationships.

There are too many miserable millionaires in the world for money to be an answer in and of itself.

It's our stories, what we tell our children, what we tell ourselves.

I bring up Science often on the site, and I'm grateful for it. What a great tool.

But Science leaves out morality, so the umbrella isn't big enough to sustain joyful living.

If our culture is to heal it comes down to us Artists. We have to grow our stories, images, and songs to match our moral needs.

How we treat each other matters. At the end of a day, and a life, it's actually the only thing that does.

Sun's up. Powder blue sky over an orange pink ribbon horizon, pencil scratch marks make the silhouettes of trees.

Take care, consider your stories, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Place for Adjectives

2025.12.17

Wednesday, December 17, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Dreams.

There's a whole lot of discussion of them on the site, but what are they?

Stories making sense of each other.

The narrative of our life is a story we tell ourselves.

A culture is a tapestry of stories shared among a group of people.

Stories of people deal with morality because we're beings of choice.

Science is the shared story of stuff.

It's dull, predictable as a rule; Science is no place for an adjective.

But Life is.

And so... enter the necessity for Artists.

O/

We all have a Life; we all want a good one.

Good is an adjective.

The relationship between Art and Morality is integral.

Art, in order to be effective, must speak to quality of life.

If an adjective doesn't come to mind when you read a story or poem, look at a picture, or hear a song; the art is ineffectual, a lesson in craft at best.

"That's beautiful. I love that."
-Every Artist's Desired Audience Member

Art invokes experience.

Years of study has shown me that the emotional response that the Artist wants from its audience must first be in the Artist.

If you write and perform a love song with little capacity to love yourself, the tune is flat and no one is lifted by it regardless how well crafted it is.

It's this Ghos+ business.

It's spirit.

And as every staunch Scientist rolls their empirical eyes, every Artist points out what we create about forces every eyeroll.

Keep it going, Artists. There's so much more to Life than adding it up.

The World, right now, could use the reminder.

Thank you for reading and sharing.

Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

The Reflection of Trees

2025.12.16

Tuesday, December 16, 2025

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Welcome back. O/

Something happened. Something changed.

We tend to think of the weather of our days in terms of temperature and condition: like is it raining or windy.

But since Wonder Fell it's easy to see the effect the duration of the amount of sunlight has on each day.

We're more like plants than we admit.

Photosynthesis, for us, comes down to the quality of choices the position of the Sun allows.

Just like a tree stretches its limbs to best reach that star, so we too build our lives to best feed ourselves the light.

A sunny day in Summer makes a different to-do list possible than a snowy Winter's day.

There's a poem in those sentiments. Perhaps you'll write it. Our lives each like the branches of trees. Every leaf a story's success.

A great poetry classroom activity to sketch a poem about. Feel free to use the example above teachers, if you think it to be helpful.

The World for sure, our Country most definitely, would benefit from people understanding more the ways poetry sees and values Life.

There's more truth in the lessons of Nature than Science can say.

Consider the reflection of trees.

What do the ways of trees teach us about our own ways of living?

What can we learn from their wisdom?

Most trees live longer than most people. What's up with that?

Sun's up. The sky's more powdery pleasant blue than it's been for weeks.

Thanks, as always, for reading.

Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.
