Under My Open Window

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
How's the day? O/
Hope all's well.
On with our show...
...
"Chirp, Cheep, Cheep,"
- Middle of the Night Under My Open Window.
"Chirp, Cheep, Cheep,"
-Again... Middle of the Night Under My Open Window.
Rabbits are fast.
We know this.
But did you know a rabbit momma is so quick she can pop out a litter of bunnies under your open window in the middle of the night and disappear?
Now you know.
She dropped them off at +the Ghos+ Orphanage and disappeared into the night.
Abe loves the backyard; all his squeak toys are there.
There were three more last night.
The thing to do, though it may not seem loving humanitarian at first, is to leave the babies there.
The mother should come back.
So, much to Abe's amazement, we left them there last night.
This morning, as is habit, I let Abe outside.
Some minutes later a small brown blob named Bunny Baby was delivered on the porch by the gentle touch of a 70 plus pound Texas hound rescue and rescuer.
Two more trips in the yard and two more plopped baby bunnies on the porch.
Something happened to their mother last night.
Now they're safely swaddled in a box waiting a trip to wonderful people.
A litter of baby bunnies under my open window last night...
I wonder if the mother knew she wasn't going to make it?
Abe and I are grateful for her trust, then.
We'll see to it the babies are cared for.
You and your coincidences my sometimes so jaded by Science reader!
There's a whole world to drop your baby bunnies off at.
Under my open window in the middle of the night?
Of course we'll make sure they're cared for Mother Rabbit, of course we will.
Take care everyone, throw your coincidences out the window, watch they don't land on orphaned newborn bunnies, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Well-Used Adverb
2025.08.23
Saturday, August 23, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
A consistent word prompt to start the day.
¡Olé! O/
Sitting in the sunrise, pixels on a page, the stage is set, the page is met to have a good day.
So... here we go.
On with our show...
...
Hope all's well with you today.
Business type thoughts this morning.
There's two craft modes to being a writer of any sort: The Act of Writing and The Act of Editing.
If you look at The Archaic Slabs at the end of any handwritten entry here, you'll notice I don't edit much.
Two reasons:
- One: This is a journal and no-edits are part of the charm.
- Two: I've been writing for a long time. The edits come preloaded while I make each sentence.
Experience of craft is in each clause.
"Because you found your writing voice, Wynn."
-Reader That's Read A Lot Their Whole Life and Also Writes
Finding one's voice as a writer is just a matter of trusting one's voice.
You're not someone else; you're you.
Why would you want to sound like someone else?
It brings insincerity to your work to try and sound like another.
The best way to establish your writing voice is not just to write, but to write comfortably.
A well-used adverb.
If I were trying to write like some other author or poet, I'd almost certainly leave out any adverbs.
Stephen King deplores adverbs; he despises semi-colons, too.
It's music, it's rhythm, it's instrumentation, it's audience.
A horror story full of semi-colons and adverbs drags along and preaches.
Adverbs are condescending in the hands of amateurs.
But they have their place.
Poe would horrifically use them.
But he was preachy, and at times condescending.
Mr. King is neither; they wouldn't fit his voice.
I'm also certain, as he's so well written and read, Stephen wouldn't begrudge Virginia Woolfe's use of her semi-colons. They fit her way, her rhythm.
When you're teaching something a gentle adverb helps.
Exclamation points, outside of quotation marks, are an author laughing at their own joke.
The voices of some authors laugh alongside their readers. O/
Some do not...
Some people are funny. O/
Some are not...
Some people are humble.
We all should be. O/
Grammar is a canvas; not a prison.
Another writing about writing entry... best to stick to what you love.
Mornings, daydreams, a hound dog, and thoughts of you, and words, words, words for reveries.
Take care, dot your eyes, cross your teas with sugar please, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

The Whole World is an Extended Metaphor
2025.08.22
Friday, August 22, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
What more to say?
Hello is always a good start. O/
Hope all's well.
On with our show...
...
Transition Day, something in the air.
The sometimes steady wind claps oak leaves together like hands cheering on a new air conditioner.
A strong sign of Autumn.
Sweatshirt hoodies, long-sleeve stay warm from the wind... flannel weather, kaleidoscopic foliage fest on the way weather.
Get a poet talking about the weather and it rains and it pours metaphors.
There's always something going on with the world for a juxtaposition.
It's the same in stories as it is with your life.
There are always two major characters in any story. Not a Hero and a Villain, a Hero and The World.
The story's scenery has its own character arc that coincides with its protagonist.
The quality of the hero's and world's stories determines the quality of, and success of, every story.
Writer's have rules and ways up every wazoo to help create strong character arcs, yet it's never taught (till now) to apply those teachings to The World of the story itself.
The whole World is an extended metaphorical reflection of what's happening with the Hero.
Just like your own life.
Your relationships to everything in your life, your world if you will, defines your life.
Change what something means to you and you change its place in your story.
The props in our life we focus on are the things that affect the story of our lives the most.
We bring in more of what we build.
We get what we give.
And what we always give is a quality of relationship.
Give something your gratitude and more relationships worth being grateful for show-up.
It's one reason it's so important to love something. It brings more things to love back to you.
Careful though, it works for negative feelings, too.
If you're focused on your dislike of a thing, well... you get what you give.
This is why it's so important we start to emphasize what is good about us.
All this bad news only creates and invites more bad news.
"We can't just wish it away, Wynn."
-Concerned Reader.
True. But we can focus on the opportunity to heal it, to not shrug our shoulders, make a lewd sarcastic comment, but to offer a solution from a place of concern.
Good news breeds good news.
The good news about bad news is we can do something about it.
It's time to be heroes of our lives, stop focusing on the unfairness of things, start acting to improve them in a spirit of a shared simple morality rooted in goodwill.
Take care, give well, receive well and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Abe for Example...
2025.08.21
Thursday, August 21, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hello. O/
Words on a stage called an Internet page, thoughts for you.
Still an hour or so till sunrise, clock just turned tomorrow on the West Coast.
People, places and things doing their things make sentences.
That's why we're here.
To make sentences.
So...
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Using AI for Art's sake gets some artists defensive.
But AI isn't taking away opportunities, it's a new medium.
Another tool for self-expression.
And the point is expression.
The issue right now is that the competency of the mimicry of the software has us feeling both in awe and deceived.
But if you take a breath, remember AI exists, watch the video, view the picture or read the AI generated story again, you can recognize it is a reproduction.
There is a way of sensing whether a work is done by hand or voice, as in a song; or if AI strung code together to place it on you screen.
It's an interesting and awkward conversation and admittance for us to have at first because we have to bring up spirit to recognize it right.
We still don't talk about soul comfortably colloquially.
How do you differ from a robot?
This is not a crazed out whimsical question, but soon enough a dire one.
Our technology is growing that fast... fast enough that we all better have a good understanding of what separates a person from a machine or we're going to find ourselves feeling without purpose.
A machine can't dream or feel.
It comes down to thoughts.
We tag an experience with words for the observation and call it a thought...
The language isn't quite here to concisely define the difference between a machine accomplishing a task versus a human.
I'm working on it.
Poets are working on it.
It's our functional place in society to name unspoken experience.
Because without a name for something there's no way to properly share it, to know it at all.
I'll use Abe for example...
A love puppy hound mountain dog mix rescued from Texas is just a mutt until he's Abe.
Now he's a storehouse of stories and experiences unique to him.
Like you.
There's much to say on this... so much we need to understand.
It comes down to the act of naming and then the accepted recognition of the label of the experience.
Artists give new shapes for shared experiences so we can share them.
A work of art names an experience.
If you ever wanted to know what practical thing Art was up to, now you know.
When your parents named you.... well your name is the title of the painting, the story called you.
You work of Art, you.
A machine can never grow. A plastic flower doesn't reach for the sun. That's the difference. It's their relationship to the light.
So I sit and write the Sunrise...How's it feed you?
Are your petals plastic or reaching high where songbirds fly?
You want to laugh, to dance, to love like a seed wants sunshine.
What's that all about?
Why does Life persist to insist these things?
There's wonder in the world everyone and a galaxy's star set to set the stage to see we have it.
I'll keep working on ways and words to best express the spirit for these AI times. It's my work, my joy.
Take care, know your work, feed your dreams, your wants, and your wonder some sunshine and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Not Just the Wish Upon a Star Ones
2025.08.20
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Good to be read by you again. O/
Sun's up.
Deep thought boulevard on the way.
If that's not your thing there's plenty more on the site to lighten your day.
Try Love, or Ugly Dogs, or a Post-Modern BOP, for instance.
Hope all's well.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Just thoughts and sentiments so many of us have but we don't talk enough about.
A TL;DR: of sorts. ^
How do you know yourself?
How do you find yourself?
Find a mirror and say hello....
It's more than that, more than your image that makes you, You.
Start with recognizing what you're naturally good at and what brings you joy to do.
For me it's writing, poetry specifically... lucky me.
It may not seem the most economically viable of activities, but it's what I'm best built for.
So my best life is one that is built to serve my ability to write.
If I'd been built to throw a fastball 90mph or greater, and I enjoyed throwing it, I'd have built my life around it.
Good chance you'd see me on a sports network and not have to unbury me in an Internet full of babel.
It's where we put our sense of value.
When we value artists as much as athletes our civilization will grow.
It's not that valuing sports and leisure are wrong; it's the overemphasis of importance we place on them.
It's our addiction to spectacle that feeds college scholarships to athletes and starves artists.
But some of our best moments, what we remember most, what has the most lasting impact on the quality of our lives, comes from the experiences gained from stories, and words, and what pictures and paintings can do.
There's the experience of being alone.
Some of us call it peace and quiet.
Some of us call it 'Where are my sleeping pills?'
Too many of us are in the latter category.
Our lives became exercises in distraction.
We thought if we're not doing something we're not living, we're wasteful, worthless.
But this is far from true.
Our lives are the process of making dreams come true.
Not just the wish upon a star ones either.
Before you stand up to get a glass of water you have to dream it first.
Just because you're well-trained to do it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
When you want to pick up your glass of water your hand has to work a certain way.
How's it do that?
You learned it by watching, by witnessing the expression of another doing it, by seeing an actor pick up a glass you learned to do it yourself.
First there's the thought, or dream labeled with words, then the act.
A thought is a dream labeled with words.
Deep thought morning...
I want you to see the importance of sitting alone, of dreaming on purpose so you can live on purpose a life of purpose.
Dreams are so important. Actually they're mandatory. It's why we sleep.
If I told you breathing was mandatory you'd laugh cause it's obvious we all do it.
We all dream.
Dreaming is mandatory and just as vital to a healthy life as healthy breathing.
There's much to be said on this.
Better suited for essays, scientific studies and stories.
Wonder Fell is a place of thoughts to provoke new thoughts.
Hopefully you gain some new material for your dreams here.
As always, thank you for reading.
Take care, dream well, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Loud Quiet
2025.08.19
Tuesday, August 19, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Dark and cloudy electric fishbowl blue water blue... in case you wanted to know the color of the just start of the sunrise sky.
Hello, again. O/
Hope you're well living your dream.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Find what you love to do and build your life around doing it.
Make everything in your life serve and support doing what you love.
That's the best goal for a best life.
What do you love to do?
Who and what best helps you do that?
Surround yourself with them.
Writing is my better than cup of coffee or tea.
It's me being my best me.
So there's a lot of solitude, a lot of quiet.
It's a loud quiet when your imagination speaks in volumes, though.
That's the writing life.
I know there's at least one thing you love to do worth building your days around.
Find it.
Recognize it by the feeling that while you're immersed in it you don't feel like you should be doing anything else.
It feels right.
The more love you put into your work the more love will come back from your work.
Not optimism, the way things work.
I hope you enjoy the site.
There's not much else like it online, I realize.
There's no spectacle here, no flash other than the screen lights needed to show the pixels to show the words (and fun AI pics).
But your life is for moments, not spectacles.
I hope you find some moments of reflection, some time for yourself, here.
If you should stop reading, daydream about your life now, where it is, where you'd like it to be... that's okay.
In fact, all puns always intended, I'll consider it a win.
Take care, take time to dream, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

What's It All For?
2025.08.18
Monday, August 18, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hello, again. O/
Here's the rub... magnetic pen swipes on an e-ink screen at sunrise.
Cool cloud sunlight, a steady gentle breeze brings a reminder: "Autumn's near."
"Don't rush Summer away, Ghos+."
- Comfortably Clad in Crocs at the Beach Reader
Summer's cool; these waves of heatwaves got to go though.
Hope all's well with you, staying your cool self.
On with our show...
...
This hello to the morning and you...
What's it all for?
A question Wonder Fell Reader: What do you do when your life has been an exercise in overcoming Hell and you won?
What's next?
That question is where I've been lately and my reason for this website.
After I reached remission, I decided my time was too valuable to be spent on anything other than what I love most.
For me that's writing and hanging out with my rescued hound dog, Abe.
With writing, like all works of art, all work at all; it has to be shared to be complete.
I click publish and send everyday.
Being forced alone by a body at war with itself most of my life brought me insight on the utility of dreams.
I share those sentiments every morning here.
I know they can be of service to you.
Understanding the value of dreams and utilizing it broke me free from Hell, a body, and so a life, at war with itself.
We have to be of service in someway to feel fulfilled.
Even if that act of service is as simple as bringing a smile to a friend's face, doing an act to help Life persist is mandatory to fully experience a successful Life.
So here I am every morning, Mr. Wonder Fell Sunshine with words of encouragement in a weary world.
Peace and reflection for breakfast versus the usual cellphone cereal bowl full of shock treatments.
Your Life is worth your consideration.
Your time is your greatest gift.
Your time is literally you.
Spend it well, share it better, choose dreams that inspire you and get to work on them.
One concerned moment of care at a time.
There's no other way to live well.
To fulfill dreams is what our body is made for.
Take the time to sit quiet and know your best dreams of life, take some step no matter the size to bring that dream to reality, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Be a Solution
2025.08.17
Sunday, August 17, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hello. O/
Thank you for reading.
Sun's out, Sun's up.
Sun's all a shine... feelin' fine enough?
Good.
Hope all's well.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Oh, The News That's Not!
How to get past it and move on?
How to make a newsreel look like progress?
It comes down to what's mundane, comes down to the day-to-day doings of the day.
A scandal isn't what's happening; it's what happened, maybe.
It's also a very good sleight of hand trick.
If you're riled up about something that happened you're not paying attention to what's happening.
Want to heal the news?
Pay attention to Today's Business everyday.
If today's business has to do with yesterday it isn't about today, but it is a great video on your cellphone to hand your kid sitting in the grocery cart so you can get some peace, so you can get your shopping done.
Spectacles and Sensationalism are America's babysitter of choice for those we elected in power at present.
Pay attention to Today's Business if you want things to improve.
...
Bah... Wonder Fell is not meant for political purposes.
Artistic and humane reasons certainly, but not politics.
But the most humane thing to do right now is to give words of encouragement, hope, and guidance on how to heal our political landscape.
Shut off the spectacles and talk to one another.
Townhall meeting anyone?
Help what and where you can.
Stronger communities make a strong Country.
Right now some of the strongest communities are online rooms made for people to shout about things news agencies get paid to rile them up them about.
Your time can be better spent.
Small groups of concerned people in large numbers focused on specific community building tasks makes a Country great.
"What can I do about it?"
- Concerned Reader
If the best answer you can come up with is 'complain and condemn' then you're part of the issue.
Do something to help heal or stop complaining.
Healing means helping.
If you're not willing to help, you're not part of the problem; you are the problem.
Be a solution.
That's your homework.
"While being babysat with spectacles and scandals, the good citizens gathered together and came up with solutions and put them to work."
Have History say that. ^
This is what this morning wants to say: Be a solution.
Take care and make wonderful this still wonderful day.
