Courteousness and Awe

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way,
... to start. O/
Light rain. Robin on the outside light fixture sings a quick melody and flies away.
What's up with you today, persistent reader?
Hopefully good news with better views.
You deserve a good day. Why postpone joy?
Today works. Have a good one.
Ready?
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Slow words.
Abe cleans his paws on the loveseat... naked.
Huh?
His bowtie collar is in the laundry.
Strange to call a dog naked when they're not wearing a collar.
People and our quirky expectations.
A patchwork sentence morning is in the air.
Choppy. Listy. Thoughts.
Experience taught me to put down the haphazard lines and to keep putting them down.
Eventually an idea that wants another and another shows.
A rhythm is made. A theme established.
The idea is to commit to writing and keep going.
Sometimes your legs need a little more stretching before you walk comfortably. Sometimes you're just ready to go with out warm-ups.
It's always best to stretch first, though.
Same applies for creative arts, too.
It's what my, "Good morning..." first line and the hello introductions are for: A stretching exercise.
And to be polite, too, of course.
Manners matter at the dinner table, in public, and in Art.
Our audience's comfort level determines their capacity to receive and process our message.
Courteousness also helps the courteous.
It's about making a safe environment for your work to be shared.
Always a good idea to have your audience's level of comfort in mind while you work.
Your message might be bold, cutting edge, sensational; but how and where it is received and by who, ought to be a consideration.
You must have an audience in mind when you write, when you speak, when you do anything; or you're just talking to yourself.
...
There's a whole generation plus of us who grew up in awe of technology.
Awe of technology is a common thread in their daily existence.
It helps us talk to each other, share our stories more.
It's the 'awe' bit that concerns me.
I want to make sure we remember that awe, to feel so impressed, so thankful, so excited, about something is a possibility of what we are.
That we're just as impressed with our ability to feel in awe as we are with AI....
That we share the ability to feel awe at all is a great reason for anyone to write anything at all.
Take care, mind your manners, keep your audience in mind and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Live the Painting
2025.06.21
Saturday, June 21 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
We're cool. O/
Cool June morning.
Hope your weather suits your mood.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Home.
A shelter from the 'so-much-elseness' of the quick spectacle world.
We walk around in firework skies, stare at flash-less camera'd screens flashing pixelated shocks to feed and fire our fantasies.
Focused in the zone getting it done or delightfully distracted is how so many of us measure happiness.
The concept of boredom is an admittance of a neglectful understanding of what's important.
'Doing Nothing' is impossible; we're always daydreaming.
If your day doesn't require bouncing around checking items done off of lists, you're not wasting time.
You're dreaming of ways to shape time.
The Dream always comes first.
This basic truth, I write about a lot, is covered up in all our felt necessary busyness.
If you don't take time to sit and dream about your life and how you'd like it to look, then your days are spent living someone else's dream of a good life for you.
If you find yourself bored, you're a victim of living someone else's dream of a good life.
Take sometime everyday to check-in with your dream of you, see how you're doing, reassess then return to doing your dream.
Daydreaming doesn't get in the way of success; it's mandatory to be a success.
Get to know yourself. Take yourself on a date. Put your headphones on. Get to your happy place.
How do you want your life to look?
Paint your life with dreams, then live the painting.
Boredom is feeling guilty for not living someone else's dream: Toss it.
Take a deep breath, dream what a good life looks like to you, call that dream a painting, live in that painting, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Because

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
You did it!
You woke up!
Nice work.
Welcome back. O/
We've got so much to talk about.
So...
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Do you want to be alive?
"Heck of a thing to ask someone first thing in the morning, Ghos+."
- Stunned Yet Curious Reader
It's more than a good question.
I'd say, if you're looking to have a good life, it's critical you ask yourself it now and again.
Consider it an adjudication.
Consider it an assessment.
It's always a yes or no question, but the answer is always dependent on when you ask it.
The value of the answer doesn't rest in whether you say yes or no.
It's in what follows the word: Because.
"Do you want to be alive?"
"Yes, because..." <– Do more of this.
"No, because..." <– Remove this from your life.
We get to create.
That's life.
Now, we can sit around complaining the materials we were born into don't serve our wishes, or we can get to work creating new materials that do.
It's always only a matter of time till your life is an easy 'yes' to the question of whether or not you want to be alive.
Keep creating new materials to have your life look the way you want it to and before you know it you're crowded by things designed to make you feel life is worth living.
That's a great place to wake up in, a room that reflects to you that your life is worth it.
It's on you to make that space.
Life is the opportunity to create a Life.
We're all dealt different materials from the start.
What we do with what we have makes our story.
Make something new out of what's in your day.
Make ways to make what you have make something beautiful.
Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Nap
2025.06.19
Thursday, June 19, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
How's the day? O/
Better than yesterday?
In some way, somewhere, it is.
Hope you recognize it.
Glad you're here.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Later than usual wake up for Abe and I.
Which means a still early wake up for most.
I like early mornings and late nights, middle times can be so noisy.
Afternoon's megaphone insistence on what must be done is almost always a place best suited for me to take a nap.
Remember that when you were so young?
In Kindergarten, or Day Care, in the afternoon everyone grabbed their blankets and pillow and took a nap.
Imagine a corporation instituting the same policy.
Everyone lays down in their cubicle for an hour or so... off grid.
We'd have to change our whole understanding and definition of productivity to adopt such a way.
Have to redefine success, too.
With so many miserable millionaires in the world, reshaping our myth on what success looks and feels like is long overdue.
So many, still, are working so hard to just pay bills or to earn a hard fought million dollar misery.
Those with what is called fortune and fame tend to be the most privately miserable lot of humanity.
Work.
Good honest work you love that helps the world somehow is the only thing that ever brings any lasting joy.
The world knows very little about its most successful people because successful people are too busy enjoying their work to tell you about it.
Success is measured by early morning affirmations and late at night recognitions.
You want to wake up; you're proud to call it a day.
Take care, recognize one thing you're proud to have done today before you go to sleep, look forward to being able to do something like it when you wake up, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Kind of Day
2025.06.18
Wednesday, June 18, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hola. O/
Humid. Light rain. Spring calls Summer to say, "Almost, there."
Really warm today, we save hot for the Summertime.
How's your day?
Good as you are, I hope.
If not find a good friend, or a good book, and hang out until what's good catches up to you.
Read me for awhile, if it helps.
I hope it does.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
A little grey, Abe looks at the sky.
What do dogs dream of the weather?
We know dogs dream.
We see it when their eyes are closed, their breathing changes, their paws paddle... they're running!
And wake up!
Whether for the sake of loyalty or magic, our pets tend to mimic our ways.
So naturally, Abe rests on the loveseat and stares daydreams at the sunrise.
He's a handsome humble guy too, of course.
Bowtie is his style, not mine.
He adopted and perfected the flannel bowtie to mimic my shirt of choice.
A quiet, stay in, read a book, watch an old movie, daydreaming kind of day.
One of my favorite kinds.
A type of day best suited for my work.
A late Spring warm light rainy day writes a different poem than a perfect volleyball at the beach day.
How's your weather?
Hope it suits your business.
Short entry this morning.
Gonna go sit with Abe and stare at the sky and see what we can dream.
Take care, do your best you, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

The News!
2025.06.17
Tuesday, June 17, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hi. O/
A new day. Same dog asleep on the same loveseat. Same Sun. A new Sky.
Hope you're well.
Hope the spectacles on other screens aren't interfering with your good sense.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
The News! Dance!
Move! Sea of Humanity! Spin! Dip! Dive!
Why make up your own mind when you can just turn on The News?
The News!
Old rich neighbors with expensive audio video equipment tell you what's up and call it The News.
The News!
The modern Media Machine is a beast, a biblical beast.
Please don't let it run your life.
The cure for it is in your pocket, in your purse, perhaps where you read this now.
Most of us have cameras on us all the time and a connection to most of the World.
Take note of what you actually witness and share it.
When good spirited people who are actually living in the stories we're fed as spectacles start telling and showing us their stories, we'll finally be free of the beast we call The Media.
The pictures placed in front of us everyday for us to share matter in relation to the picture placers.
Your longtime friend tells you about a new cold medicine they took and it really did work. If you get a cold again, you ought to try it.
A Pharmaceutical Company tells you the same story.
It's a different story.
Consider the source.
The source is always a part of every story.
"What's your source, Ghos+?"
- Astute Reader with all the Right Questions
Just a guy writing in his morning journal who knows life is a lot better than the pictures we so often use to talk about life with.
Keep in mind while you view the images of the day that somebody wants you to see those images in that way.
If what you see looks horrible, someone wants you to see horror.
If what you see looks compassionate, someone wants you to see compassion.
There's always a way, in all circumstances, to make those circumstances into an opportunity to help us grow.
There is always an opportunity for good.
Find it, report it and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Perhaps the Pachyderm
2025.06.16
Monday, June 16, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Hey. O/
Welcome back.
Peace.
Even the blue jays are relaxed.
Takes a lot to chill out a blue jay.
Being the color blue in nature is a lot of work.
How's your day?
Idyllic Spring in New England temps and sky for the stage today.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
Change in each sunrise the past few days.
The words agree.
When you make a constant you recognize variables.
The past few morning journal entries want for something.
Something is not being said and wants saying.
The writer's job is to recognize it and say it.
There's an elephant in the room and no one is talking about it because no one knows elephants exist.
The Poet's job? Define the elephant.
Perhaps the pachyderm will prove describable today.
Perhaps the pachyderm was the point that poet's define what's gone unnamed and the exercise is over.
That feels right.
We haven't known what to do with poets in America, haven't the time.
But every once and awhile one of us comes along and every course of events in the Nation is changed.
Words are how we live, how we get things done.
Poets breathe life into old words and make them new.
Everything done with words, and so everything, is made new through The Poet.
And here you are thinking I'm a sweet chocolate Valentine's Day Card warm fuzzy guy.
I am, of course, but there's a whole lot more.
From Epic Poets to Biblical Prophets, poets, poets, poets have always held a place of great respect and purpose in great civilizations.
"Did you know your words can do this, too?"
- Great Poet Who Big Brother is Definitely Watching
...
Another... there's so much more to say mornings...
Call it reference material for afternoon writing sessions.
Hope all's well.
Take care, reconsider the evolutionary importance of poetry, thank a poet and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Not Deep Thought Questions
2025.06.15
Sunday, June 15, 2025
Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.
Welcome back. O/
Hope all's well.
Time for a spell.
Here we go.
On with our show...
...
There's more to life than speeding it up.
Fast! Fast! Quick! Get it done... lifestyles get dead quicker with big question marks asking what was it all for attending their funerals.
Slow down. You're here.
Life! Alive!
You ought to realize you're here on purpose.
You could if you sat still and listened to your dreams from time to time.
The World talks to you all the time.
Really, it does.
This journal so often talks about dreams. But what are they for?
Where do they come from?
How are they possible?
What is a dream?
These are not deep thought questions.
There's breath. There's a heartbeat. There's dreams.
You can't exist without any.
What's a heartbeat? Is not a deep question.
Neither is, "What's a dream?"
We share a story, this thing called Life.
Life is a great dream. We tend to it, shape it, care for it with our own power to dream and make our dreams real.
When we add to the dream called Life something shareable, that is called making it real.
Reality = Our Shared Dream.
It frustrates me this sounds so deep end esoteric.
It's basic human 101: Have a dream. Think of a way to do it. Do it.
...
AI? Why bring that up now...?
Dreams take the forefront in the realm of the practical now.
A prompt fed AI is a dreamer's dream. A sentence held up for the eyes of human records to reflect an image back from.
There is so much to say on this topic in places better suited than a poet's morning journal.
I am glad that dreams, the practicality of dreams, finally has to be seen centerstage if our technology is to do us any good.
So much to say...
In another palace, on another day.
Hope all's well. O/
Take care, dream and dream and dream, and make wonderful this wonderful day.
