Since the Dawn of the Moon

2026.01.08

Thursday, January 08, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

There's Love, there's Life itself, there's every emotion known and more, there's the realm of all that Science cannot measure; there's the work of The Poet.

O/ How's your sunshine?

Are you a writer? Do you keep a journal?

You should.

Artists keep sketchbooks to practice their expressions through lines.

Writers should keep a journal to metaphorically do the same.

We draw with words; we write the sunshine.

Every shadow, shape, color and line expressed by an Artist is, for a writer, a potential placeholder for our craft.

But words do more than just mimic shapes in space.

There's a whole realm of wonderful in each of us.

Words are always the starting point for expressing what is alive in us, of what we are.

...

Sometimes, though rare, Wonder Fell goes personal. What compels someone to take on such a task?

Poets have neglected the sunrise since the dawn of the moon. But there's hope in every morning, another chance in every new ray of every new day.

More than that there's the power of words and how they're linked to identity.

We are responsible for every word we share, through breath, ink, or pixel light.

How easy text messaging and the Internet allows us to forget.

Your words are a part of you, ambassadors of who you are, always at work building your identity, your place in the World.

Illness and tragedy kept me from being able to share words in ways so many of us take for granted for so long.

Wonder Fell, personally speaking, is a way to share some of who I am with a World I was kept from for so much of my adult life.

Now that remission and beating death are out of the way, there's much I have to share... that I've wanted to for a very long time.

It's all good news; we could use some.

As always, thank you for reading. Please, if you find it helpful, stay and read some more.

With so many words, there's something for everyone here.

Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Owning a Sense of Wonder

2026.01.07

Wednesday, January 07, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Welcome back. O/

More than a convention, it gets the gears going.

Wonder Fell's first line every morning.

The previous sentence is not a classic sentence.

There are many non-classical uses of grammar on the site.

It's a journal.

Journals and text messages allow more freedom in the world of syntax.

So does the profession of The Poet.

Somebody's gotta make the rules my Stuffy-Stuffy Grammar Gals.

Part of a Poet's Credo: Grammar is a canvas; not a prison.

"How's that work?"
-Interested Reader

Refer to your text messages for a more (ungrammatical) detailed explanation.

...

A conversation with humanity at sunrise.

Everyday.

Just a short, "Have some breakfast. Enjoy your day. Here's some things to wonder about... post,' for you.

Because owning a sense of wonder is integral to living a good life.

So many of us forgot or never knew it was an option.

We all have this thing called Life... we share it, but we also have our own.

The quality of every life is determined by the quality of its relationships.

How we get along with all things determines our well-being.

This means your friends, your partner, your business associates, your dog or cat, your car, even your toaster and the horizon at dawn.

...

Blue-light behind billowy clouds this morning.

Dawn shows like your best friend at midnight asked if you wanted to see the two month supply of ice cream they have in the walk-in freezer.

"Sure," you said.

As they opened the air-sealed door the lights came on, iridescent yellow and blue glowing clouds of steam around every flavor on every shelf.

What's your favorite flavor?

Pick it, enjoy, take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Have You Considered Them?

2026.01.06

Tuesday, January 06, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

How's the day? O/

Sun's up. All clear here.

Except the sky... a comfortable cloudy daydream.

...

Lots of memorable dreams last night.

Do you have sleep like that?

On occasion the images and stories while we sleep are worth remembering.

There's that understanding of the word remember... to put something back together.

Gather all the group's members and reassemble.

So much wonder already on the site regarding the power of dreams.

Have you considered them?

Sure you've considered breathing and your heart's beat a few times.

Dreaming is as necessary as both of those. It's purpose in your life is definitely worth your consideration.

The ability to dream and then express that dream is what makes us human. Everything else AI machines can do, but only if they're built from dreams first.

So how are your dreams awake and asleep?

Athletes and Artists both must visualize success at their work first if they're to be successful.

Visualization is daydreaming with a destination. The only way to have any kind of success in life and not visualize it first is if someone else's dream carries you along with them.

How we get along with someone ultimately comes down to how well our dreams of the relationship work together. All relationships work that way: friends, lovers, business associates.

What's Life all about in your dream of Life? Find people with similar notions and build a wonderful Life building those dreams.

Good day, good feel in the air today.

Hope all's well, Dear Reader. O/

Take care, consider your dreams, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

Read

2025.01.05

Monday, January 05, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Hello, again. O/

Another morning, some more thoughts from your friendly undead poet.

Glad you're here.

On with our show...

...

Do you read? Often and much?

It's a wonderful thing to do for so many reasons. Not only for leisure's sake, but also as a means of caring for yourself.

Far from an escape, reading is an exercise that helps you know yourself better.

Readers have richer fuller lives because time spent with books is time invested in you.

Reading provides new ways to interpret Life. So to read is to expand all you can experience.

A book you love is a pair of eyeglasses that helps you see more.

When someone tells you they don't enjoy reading what they're actually saying is they didn't enjoy the books they read.

If you want to start a reading practice, it's as simple as finding a book you love.

There's at least one for everyone.

Read something you enjoy everyday and your whole life improves.

Really.

There's a few minute read brand new everyday here on Wonder Fell. If you love it, (you know you do) check it out everyday.

My morning journal on Wonder Fell will always be free.

Donations and friendly comments are always greatly appreciated.

It's in the good old-fashioned spirit of helping out that I present these thoughts to you each morning. That spirit is so lacking from our daily focus lately.

A looking out for number one way of life is a fool's errand; as if you built your i-phone. There's always someone to be grateful for other than yourself.

Always.

Thank you for reading, it means the World to me. Take care and make wonderful this wonderful day.

And So I Write

2026.01.04

Sunday, January 04, 2026

Good morning, The Wonderfell Way.

Welcome to the show. O/

Midnight changes the calendar, though most of us sleep at least six more hours before we wake.

What's up with that?

Another incredibly early morning here. It's still yesterday on the West Coast. Greetings from tomorrow, California. O/

So far, so good.

So many sunrises in a row now on Wonder Fell. Hundreds.

Thanks for sharing some with me.

...

It's interesting in its intimacy, this act of journal sharing.

How words shape and build identity show well here.

How each sentence says so much about the writer is worth our wonder.

Respect and reverence for the written word, for language at all, is what this site is all about.

Neglecting to remember the power words have to shape our lives is the cause of everything we see, and hear, and call so much of the News these days.

You see, Dear Reader, this is poet's work. More than the Hallmark Card love letter melancholy business so commonly put on us; we're guardians of words themselves.

I blame America's youth, not our young generations; our civilization's age.

We've only been around a couple hundred years. Our start was a turning away from so much else.

We have no Chaucers, no Miltons, no Homers that aren't yellow. Poets like these shaped civilizations with their testaments to morality.

And so I write.

I write my best to remind us of our best so we can, again, show what's best about ourselves to each other.

It takes story, it takes myth, it takes lyrical language to do that.

Our popular musicians, at times, do their best to remind us the value of Life. But a pop song can only do so much.

Different types of Art are different types of medicine.

A popular song heard by the right person at the right time changes that person's life.

Poetry, specifically Lyrical and Epic Poetry, is medicine for Civilizations.

And so I write.

Humbly, consistently, a voice every morning to remind us Life is still worth wonder. Our dreams still matter.

How we treat each other still defines our value more than any bank account can ever say.
Our words, more precisely our stories and Art, must begin to emphasize this point if our civilization is to endure.

It's time for us Artists to be the grown-ups, take the reigns, and lead.

We are so much better than how we've been treating and talking about ourselves lately.

Most of humanity has a camera, a speaker, a monitor on them at all times these days.

Our phones are connected to The World.

Artists! Let's flood phones with Art, with music, with stories and purge our so called News.

People! There are better things to look at and listen to than what passes for News.

Choose your favorite genre of music for your radio station choice over the channel with the people getting paid to make you angry.

The woman singing her heart out so you can have a better day deserves your attention more. She most certainly is of more lasting value and increases rather than takes away from your quality of life.

When Art takes over a culture it's called a Renaissance. America is long overdue one.

The reality of an American Renaissance is the only way we can bring lasting positive change.

Our understanding of our stories is broken. This requires new stories, art, and music to heal.

There's much to say on this topic. It's part of the point and purpose of Colore to address it directly.

And so I write.

As always, thank you for reading, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

To See More

2026.01.03

Saturday, January 03, 2026

Good morning, The Wonderfell Way.

How's the New Year?

Been a few days. A quick assessment is in order.

Hope all's well.

The very soon full moon through the window on the tablet as I write to you.

Another verse of Colore dropped last night.

There's still some arranging of parts going on behind the scenes with the author.

(Anytime I speak of myself in the third person you know things are quite serious.)

Colore is not a novel. Poets (O/) don't write novels. If a poet wants to tell a story, we write an Epic.

A Freeverse Epic may, at times, resemble a novel, but there are distinctions.

In the world of writing, the difference is glaring. Writing teachers get ready their red pens to write in the margins, "Show. Don't tell."

But an Epic is told.

Think of it like this: The guy (third person again... serious) who writes Wonderfell is telling you a story.

Another helpful reason for this journal, in terms of an Epic, it helps to know your narrator. O/

Thanks for getting to know me.

So that's how the days of late go for me: Working on stretching genres to best express a message of Hope to you.

"Couldn't you just write the main story as a novel, Wynn?"
-Reader With an Excellent Question

Yes, but the point would not be fully expressed.

Shakespeare's got his play within a play. I'm working on a story, stories actually, within a story.

Moral tales juxtaposed to life today to remind us of the transformative power of Story in all our lives.

The notion is that the stories we feed ourselves everyday aren't giving us our best results. Our Nation is falling apart because our stories aren't serving what's best about us. A tale where the villain wins is a cool concept, but a failure of a story.

Art imitates Life, certainly; but the quality of our lives, our full emotional experience, can only ever be as good as our Art allows.

Until we have words or images to define our experience, we can't fully experience it.

This is what Art does: Shows us The World in a new light to help us better understand our own experience. And because there's a better understanding our day to day lives are richer, fuller, more easily expressed.

Art is not entertainment; it's the tool we use to shape our lives.

Reading a 'good' book, or watching a 'good' movie, reaffirms for you your feelings of what it means to be alive.

Experiencing a great book or film expands your awareness of what is possible to experience.

Seeing a great painting allows you to see more.

So I work in hopes to help us better see.

As always, thank you for reading, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

The Scientist and The Sentence

2026.01.02

Friday, January 02, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

The Moon is bright and so are you. O/

Great to be read by you again. Hope all's well.

On with our show...

...

Friday... so expect another verse of Colore to appear later today.

Writing about writing an American Epic while writing it brings up some new questions and possibilities.

The pacing of posts stays the same due to the requirements of the story. Being a fantasy tale of sorts, details of the world's reality need to be fleshed out in advance.

To some degree.

I've been working those out.

So much of the joy of writing a story comes in the act of discovery.

Authors tend to stress over writing it 'right.'

We study books on craft. And we should.

The desire to better understand our work is self-affirming and potentially beneficial to the finished product.

Potentially because getting too focused on craft dizzies up the dreams we're attempting to convey with details.

If you know how to tell a child a story, and how to write a sentence, you can write a book.

Once upon a time there was an interesting character who had an issue. Until one day something happened that needed fixing. Fixing this issue solved the interesting character's issue. The End.

There are hundreds of years of literary theories, some practical, some far-out fantastical, to explain in detail the 'Once Upon a Time' process of story.

Something about you knows it. Is it innate?

Every known culture knows the same way of story.

We're born into it. The ways of story are as much a part of Life as water is.

The World cannot exist without story.

A Scientist would have to follow the way of story to attempt to prove or disprove that statement...

Once upon a time there was a Scientist who wanted to prove The World's dependency on Story.
Suddenly, the previous sentence appeared.
The Scientist read it, wondered, and called it Proof.
And The Scientist and The Sentence lived happily ever after in a state of wonder.

Thanks for reading, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.

A Re-Solution

2026.01.01

Thursday, January 01, 2026

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way.

Happy New Year.

Now what?

We dance, we sing, we merry make; we have better days.

We take care of each other. And that means taking better care of ourselves.

Resolutions... a re-solution.. are you fixing that again?

Like a painter has a canvas, a poet a page, we use time as a framework to plan our days and fashion our goals.

We frame our lives on canvases of time.

The screen you read this on is a frame of sorts.

What do you keep within the walls of your phone or monitor's picture world?

How many tabs do you have open? ☝️😕

Can you really devote the kind of care and attention necessary to give to each open tab all at once?

If an image is in a painting it is part of the painting.
If a word is in a sentence it is part of the sentence.
All that's on your screen is part of all that's on your screen.

Unless you're ordering lunch for a company meeting, the pizza restaurant delivery menu tab has no place on the screen with your company's annual report.

Treat every screen you use like a painting in a frame. Do that. See how your focus improves.

So, what's in your New Year's frame?

Let's extend the metaphor... what materials will you use to paint this New Year?

Patience? Persistence? Passion?

What's this year's fashion?

More words on more screens for me.

Thanks for reading them. O/

Make a resolution to help yourself and at least one other person this year, take care, and make wonderful this wonderful day.
